Fat happy sheep
To all sports lovers,
Circuses (Gladiator contests) became the method that the ruling class of ancient Rome used to maintain their power and control of the people. This method kept their sheep fat and happy.
In last 2000 years, the circuses have changed from the gladiator contests live in the coliseum, to the Team A vs. Team B games on our modern televisions. No longer, do we need to leave our homes to watch the games in person, as they are delivered to our homes in full Technicolor. *Sheep thinks that he controls the game (using remote control of TV set) and feels powerful.*
Not only games played on the basis of power and money, power brokers put their audience on interactive games of SMSs polls to voting campaigns, driven by hidden agendas of mass hysteria and advertisements and advantages out of our sheep’s basic income and time (You name it Idol selection or Voice of country..Everything is same interactive games for sheep. If someone says that these are talent hunt programs..I bet for that to prove them fake & planned).
It is all a big chess game, and the moves are carefully planned. As with the Romans, the sheep have become more interested in the game itself than their own freedom. In these modern times, a football or basketball (Cricket in India) game draws more attention than Scientist finding new technology or entrepreneur gaining momentum in market or any serious environmental issues.
Ancient Rome has fallen and been replaced by the power elites in history, but the game is the same: keep the sheep fat, happy, and stupid as you send them off to die for the enrichment of the State.
Nothing has changed in 2,000 years, and nothing will change in the future. The sheep are stupid and will never see the boot on their face, as they are too busy watching the games (and worshipping false GODs thereafter.. The dulkars and The Honis). As long as the State never attempts to take away their cricket or beer, the mind-crippled sheep will continue to be content and enjoy Cricket.
Why am I concern about sheep? I should not. Shepherds (Power Brokers) will rule only if there is flock of sheep exists in society. Let the sheep enjoy his Lion’s share of enjoyment. Observe and enjoy power games in modern India.
Have happy hours of watching (cricket) games in upcoming future (I am dead sure about sheep watching Cricket over Olympic)!
PS: Personal views sparked by comments given by one reader @ rediff.com on IPL news. I have utmost respect for sports, no offense for growing businesses, only concern about fat (Not in literal terms, Fatty mind who has lost ability to think independently) happy sheep.
